You Get a Shopping List with an Ellements Studio Project
The founder of the Bratislava interior design studio Ellements, Martina Gvizdová, spent many on styling for fashion magazines and advertising agencies. After leaving Prague, though, she found a new passion, interior design, advising furniture manufacturers and purchasing accessories for both remodeled and completely new homes.

Natural Materials Play the Leading Role
Designs by the Ellements Studio have one thing in common — they never seem old and dated, even after many years. The hallmark of this design studio is elegant style and a wealth of unexpected details. The use of quality materials is a given, and they are the backbone of every project. We asked Martina what kind of materials she prefers to use in an interior. Her answer was clear: “My favorite material is stone, particularly marble and various kinds of granite, but I also love wood, glass, and metal.”
Martina likes to put Technistone’s countertops in her kitchens. Technistone has a beautiful selection of colors and textures, and most importantly, its engineered stone surpasses natural stone with its excellent properties. “I see TechniStone® as a high quality, sleek, modern countertop that will outlast everything else in the kitchen. It has a great choice of designs and pleases both the touch and the eye,” Martina adds.

Guiding a Project from Beginning to End
At Ellements Studio, the client’s wishes are the foundation on which the entire project is based. It’s important to find out what the client likes and dislikes and what their requirements are. After taking measurements, Martina creates the design room by room and starts to give it character. “I gradually add the kitchen, the bathroom, and the other rooms and when the client and I agree on the result, I create a shopping list.”
Martina enjoys working with moodboards, which allow the client to see how different materials, textures and colors will complement each other. “I keep changing everything and comparing how things go together until I’m 100% happy with every detail.” Then she submits the project to the client for a consultation, which is more or less the last step before the final design is approved.
A renovation project is a complex process, with which Martina’s husband helps her. He negotiates prices, monitors the sequence and quality of the work and in short, coordinates the entire reconstruction process in accord with Martina’s suggestions.

Inspiration Comes from More than Just the Client
For the most part, Martina is guided by the client’s wishes, but she also takes into account the history of a building. “I draw inspiration from the client. I try to meet them and lead them in the right direction, but I also try to make the design relevant to the history and type of the apartment and the building where the interior is located.” Martina also finds inspiration on Instagram. She downloads photos and likes to return to them when she needs a dose of inspiration for visualizing a new project.
