Every home is unique. It’s a home that is unique and different, with different needs, different lives and different priorities. A home is a chronicle of all life’s achievements and major changes. Just as human character is shaped, so is the interior of our homes. The clean bare walls are treated to pastel wallpaper with a gilded mirror and become a backdrop for family photographs. Empty rooms are made cozy by furniture with a story – a velvet sofa, a glass table, a pink stool, a bespoke kitchen. An interplay of different materials, color variations and individually chosen jewels that together form one meaningful whole – a home. A place where you relax let go of the rules and naturally connect with the flow of energy.
You are looking at Veronica’s dream come true, brought to life by her hard work and love of interior design. Bold elements with a touch of extravagance, preferably in a combination of pastel colors, can be seen in Slovakia. Veronika designed and had most of the furniture made to order herself. The rest of the interior was bought abroad. If you wish to get to know the personality of the lady of the house, take a close look at the interior photos. Friends say that every detail reflects her whole personality!
The key is passion and endless inspiration
A home is a symbiotic blend of design and the human being, and in the case of Veronika’s apartment, it oozes Art Deco flair. An antique painting, wooden parquet floors, an atypical sofa that you sink into while reading your favorite book, photographs capturing life’s most beautiful moments or golden accessories on the granite sink. Every detail carries a part of Veronika’s life story. She discovered her passion for design in her childhood. She redesigned her childhood room several times and the desire to change things and compositions in her own image persists to this day. It is a hobby to which she devotes a large part of her free time. “I look for inspiration on Pinterest, which is full of ideas. I am also often inspired by history, specifically the Art Deco period. When furnishing an interior I have to experience love at first sight, it’s the only way I’m 100% sure it’s the right choice. Of course, the quality of the product is a must. I admit that I am a strong perfectionist when it comes to design.”

The heart of the home is the kitchen space. Veronika wanted a kitchen that was a real centerpiece of the main living area and not just a utilitarian function. “It was difficult to choose a unit that would fit in with my concept and meet the quality requirement. I had always wanted a white marble worktop. But when it came to breaking bread, I learned that natural marble was unsuitable for the kitchen. It’s a very absorbent material that leaves visible traces of food rich in color pigments. I reached for an alternative – Technistone® engineered stone in Mystery White. Not only is it practical and low-maintenance, but it looks fantastic! It gets compliments from every one of our visitors.”

Advice worth more than gold
“If you’re decorating without a designer, definitely don’t leave it to the last minute. Think carefully about every step. I’ve been working on my apartment for 3 years and I’m not finished yet. I’ve thought long and hard about every piece of furniture. I had most of the pieces custom made or purchased abroad. Have the courage to create a bespoke interior,” advises Veronika and continues, “if you don’t dare, put yourself in the hands of an experienced designer. Most people nowadays get carried away by contemporary trends and forget about themselves. Create an interior that will still excite you in 20 years’ time. It is not only minimalism that is timeless .”
